Recently I have been really tired and I think it's because I have low iron. Is this common for vegetarians? How do you keep your iron up?

First let me say that is a GREAT QUESTION, i am glad you asked it. And second i have to throw in a disclaimer which is i am not a nutritionist. I just try to help in any way i can with info and my experiences.

I will say that it is important that you mix Vitamin C when you eat iron rich foods to make sure you're absorbing it. I wrote about this very topic recently on my veg blog, do check out the article.

But if you're feeling tired and you think you may have low iron, do visit your local doctor and have yourself checked out. I mean why take a chance, it may be something totally NOT to do with iron. So give a pro a chance to look at ya.
